Your gifted teacher commented that she has really seen you mature since the beginning of the year and I agree. Everyone that meets you is still awed at your ability to hold a conversation about anything. You are an avid reader and you've yet to dislike a book. You read chapter books like you are a 10 year old. You inspire me want to read more!
Your favorite toy is Legos, but really you just love to build things. Puzzles, Legos, Knex, your monthly Kiwi crate boxes...all make you smile from ear to ear. Once you have a project, you can sit at the table with full concentration until you finish it.
Lately, you've been a lot better at helping out around the house. Your dad and I often joke that you're like a working dog- you need a job. Once we label something as your job, you own it and do it without question. You're being a better big brother to Liam and Ellie.
You are both a homebody and an outdoor kind of boy. A perfect day could be building Legos all day or riding your bike or playing outside. You like to run and enjoy races. You're getting better at pacing and I look forward to training with you for our upcoming races. You're a great running buddy. We recently got you a balance bike and it's your favorite bike. Pretty soon we'll be taking your training wheels off your bike. There isn't any "sport" or activity that we've introduced you to that you dislike. This is great but also a challenge because you want to do everything, at once, and we can only accommodate a couple of things into our schedule.
We are looking forward to another year of milestones and growth. It's always an adventure with Gavin!
Love,
Mama and Daddy
