So many changes so fast

I just have to make a note to myself about all the words and sounds that Gavin has learned.
It is incredible how fast he picks up new things.
Here's a list of Gavin's current vocabulary:

bobo= pacifier in Spanish
ba-ba= bottle
leche= milk in Spanish
dada or daddy= definitely Nick
mama (I'm still not sure he calls me specifically but it seems to match more often now)
agua
ball

He has other "language" words that we don't recognize. My favorite one is "doy-to" because it reminds me of a Japanese town close to where we lived (Daito). Sometimes he wakes up in the morning in a talkative mood and just goes on and on in his own language. It looks like he's really trying to tell us a story but of course we can only nod our heads.

Animal Sounds:

quack for duck= sounds more like ta-ta when he says it but he only uses it for duck so I know he means quack
boooooo = moo for cow; I guess it's hard for him to use m so he substitute for b
woof woof= dog

Other milestones:

He can point to things he wants.
We can also ask him where things are and he'll point to them. For example, Nick asked him "where's the light?" and Gavin pointed to the ceiling where the light fixture is- he loves lights and likes to point to them so we turn them on for him.
Also, this morning Nick was reading a book to him and asked "where's Big Bird?" and he pointed to Big Bird, then "where's Elmo?" and he pointed to Elmo.
Nick is working on the concept of "keep it" so that he doesn't throw things when he's done with them. It seems to work most of the times when we can predict when he's going to throw it (e.g bottle, pacifier, etc).

We've come to realize that although he doesn't speak much he is understanding everything we do and so we need to talk to him more about random stuff. He adores books and he'll pick out the one he wants you to read to him so we've set up a shelf in the living room low enough for him to reach the books. I'm still surprised at how he likes books as much as any other toy.
I started teaching him the body parts like nose, mouth, toes but he hasn't picked those up just yet. He does find it really funny when we point to our nose and touch his nose. He also likes the song "head, shoulders, knees and toes" but won't point to anything himself yet.
