For the past 2 days, Nick and I have been sick. Luckily Gavin has not caught it yet. Nick got sick while he was away in Atlanta. I started feeling sick a few days later. We both have the same symptoms and when we went to the doctor, separately, they both said it was viral and there's nothing we can do but drink fluids, rest, and wait for it to pass. Today was a much better day for both of us. We still sound awful, me more than Nick since I practically have no voice, but we feel better than we did yesterday. We were able to be parents today rather than coaxing Gavin into being lazy and lay down with us in front of the TV all day (as we did yesterday).
We can't believe that Gavin hasn't caught the bug. However, we were scared this morning at his swim lesson because he was just off. He wouldn't come off his float to swim. He just wanted to float...even when he was right next to the wall. Then to top it off, when he was submerged he took in some water and as he coughed he threw up his milk. He's never thrown up before so we thought he could be getting what we have and it just hasn't surfaced yet. However, for the rest of the day...other than taking a 2.5 hour nap, he was completely normal. He even ate more than he has been for the past week so maybe it was just an off day. We really hope he doesn't get sick.
