We're in Florida!

We made it to Florida for the summer!  Yay!  First order of business- to take the boys to the beach.  We just went for a little bit for the boys to play in the sand and get their feet wet.  It's a good thing we weren't there for a beach day because the lifeguard whistled for everyone to get out of the water while we were there and we heard that there were a lot of sharks nearby today.
Anyhow, here are the pics:
Ellie is constantly rocking herself back and forth.  If you're holding her, it's quite an arm workout.  Nick found this is the only position where she won't rock herself.  Side Note:  those thighs are no joke and the picture doesn't do them justice.  We now have trouble getting her in and out of her bouncy seat and the Bjorn carrier because the thighs are so big they get stuck.  Most onesies are also too tight for her around the thighs.

 Working together...

Liam was observing and trying to figure out what he wanted to do.
He looks so serious in this sequence...pitiful, but he wasn't sad, I think he was just observing and concentrating on what he wanted to do.

Ellie just watched from above.  It was too hot for her to sit without shade on the beach.
Standing "on the edge of America" as Grandpa Ron says.
Gavin was happy to get his feet wet and didn't hesitate.

Liam was not so sure.  He was more like "you go ahead, Gavin, I'll see what happens to you and then I'll decide".

 This mud thing is interesting....
What do I do with my hands now?
 Icky hands...

If we had brought a shade for the boys, they would have sat digging sand all day but Liam was ready to go after a little bit.  Surprisingly, he was more red in the face and arms than Gavin after just a little bit even though we lathered both up in sunscreen.  We will go back soon!

Looking back at the pictures is great. I'm also very happy to know that we can take Liam to the beach without worrying about him eating the sand.
