Fall Frolic Festival

Today we visited the Fall Frolic Festival at Anne Springs Greenway.  We attended this festival 2 years ago when we first moved to SC and I recently discovered that a picture of Gavin and I is featured on the event website (click here, we're the 5th bullet point on the slideshow: http://www.ascgreenway.org/events/detail/2013-fall-festival-corn-maze-and-pumpkin-patch)

It was a beautiful day to be outside and the kids (and us) had so much fun.  This year they charged an admission fee but it was worth it in our opinion.  Last time we attended, Liam was in a stroller, only 3 months old.  This time he really got to enjoy all the activities and Ellie was in the stroller enjoying watching everybody.
We took LOTS of pictures so the grandmas and grandpas could see how much fun the little ones had.  Enjoy!

I love how the boys were all into the corn maze and which path to take and Ellie is like "whatever...I got my snacks"

"This way!"....Liam said so confidently- it was a dead-end. :(

Liam felt like the festival was a tease.  After the corn maze, he wanted to eat corn but no vendors at the festival sold corn.

Of course, Liam does Liam and doesn't take a good picture.  At least, he's IN the picture.  It took a while before he even agreed to sit down.
This is Ellie's really happy face...her scrungy face.

Notice Liam is holding on to two pretzel sticks.  Wouldn't let go of his snack.

The gang on the hay ride (without any hay)

Figuring out their strategy

Liam tried a LOT of pumpkins.  He really wanted a big one but finally figured out the size he was able to pick up.

"This one is for baby"....He picked this one out for Ellie.

Found the perfect one for himself.

The hay/tractor ride to the pumpkin patch was gorgeous.  We saw parts of the greenway we'd never seen before.  We didn't even know there's a lake where we could kayak.  Beautiful place.  This is where I did my trail race last week.

After lunch, Liam decided he did want to ride the horses.  He kept pointing to the black and white horse and calling it a cow.  He told us he wanted to ride the cow.  We told him it was a horse and he said he wanted to ride a horse so we stood in line.  When Liam got his turn, he got cold feet and didn't want to put the helmet on.  I thought it was because he was afraid.  Gavin did his ride and then Liam said he wanted a ride.  We tried it again. He put on the helmet but wouldn't get on the horse.  He then pointed and said "that one"...he didn't want the brown horse, he wanted the black/white horse.  When they pulled up the black/white horse, he willingly went on it.  I walked next to him and he was so funny.  He said, "'look like cow' horse".  The lady said, "his name is Billy Bob" and Liam said, "this is look like cow horse".  He later said "my horse". He was happy with his cow horse. :)

"No horse"
"That one Mama"...he was not going to settle for any other horse

 "Make a corn angel Gavin"....

 "Corn Crib"....genius idea!
Liam would not let us leave until he pet these little guys.  He was so happy.
