New house. New bikes.

We took the kids to pick out brand new bikes at the store. They were so happy to get new "big" bikes (they all got a size upgrade).

I love how the house backs up to a roundabout cul-de-sac. We have a pretty big driveway that the kids can ride on but then there's this great loop or as Ellie calls it, "the loopty loop" that serves as a small track for the kids to ride their bikes or run around (it's .10 of a mile around).

Once Nick put the bikes together, they tested them out on the driveway. It's funny to me how they all just started going in circles in the driveway and none of them broke off to ride down the street. Gavin wanted to see how it felt to ride with training wheels again.....it didn't take long for him to ask us to take them off.

Ellie was scared to go on the road. It's understandable given how much we tell them "don't go on the road" and yet here we are saying it's ok to ride on the road. Eventually, she saw the boys go on the "loopty loop" and she wanted to try it. Here she is going all the way around by herself. She's such a happy girl.
Later, the kids started doing "duathlons" or more like "brick" exercises. They would ride their bike around the loop, drop the bike off and run around the loop, pick the bike up and do it again. I love that they love these types of exercises.
