Gavin's First Movie Theater Experience

Yesterday, Grandma Mary, Nick, Gavin and I headed to the movie theater to watch the Cars 2 Movie.  Everyone knows Gavin is obsessed with Cars.  He already has all the cars from the new movie, knows all of their names, and what country they are from so we figured he'd be into the movie right away.  He did well for about 45 minutes (including previews) and then he said "all done".  I didn't blame him, the movie was not good.  They tried to make an adult action movie plot into a kids' movie and it just wasn't appropriate.  He had not even seen the cars race which is what he really likes so Grandma Mary stepped in to the rescue and got him some popcorn.  Having his own popcorn tray made all the difference and Gavin sat patiently through the rest of the movie.    
Grandma Mary took some pictures of the experience.  Gavin wore his Cars 2 shirt and shoes, of course.

Gavin ate popcorn one kernel at a time and would very slowly put it in his mouth without taking his eyes off of the screen. :)

We won't be buying this movie.  We probably will never watch it again.  There was just too much unnecessary violence (guns, explosions, missiles, etc.).  Nick and I thought it was the worse Pixar movie we've seen.
