Top Top Come Home

So, we have a lost friend at our house.  Turns out that one of Gavin's bedtime buddies, the black puppet dog (from IKEA) named Top Top, had an extended stay in New Orleans.  Nick packed him so Gavin would have a familiar companion for bedtime but we accidentally left him behind.  It's taken this long for Gavin to realize his friend is missing.  We thought it would be no big deal, we would just go to IKEA and pick up a new one, place it on his bed and he would never know.  Well, turns out they don't sell them at IKEA anymore- not the one in Charlotte anyway.  A few nights ago while we were reading our bedtime story, Gavin looked down at the book and there was a black dog pictured.  He said, "I have a black dog, his name is Top Top (as he looked around).....where is Top Top?"  That's when we had to tell him that Top Top was still in Louisiana.  But we could write him a letter so he knows to come home now.
So, here's the letter that Gavin wrote to Top Top.  We have to put it in the mail today because Top Top is already on his way home and should be here tomorrow or Friday (thanks to ebay and a price gouging seller named "Lost Loveys" that takes advantage of parents like us).

Gavin did write the letters himself.  No, he cannot spell.  I told him the letters to write and he did it without my help.  This is one of his best work.  All the letters are about the same size.  Typically, he is not this consistent with size.  His A's in particular tend to be much bigger than the rest but this time he did really well with his name.

Good save on your part. That letter was an excellent idea!
